About

We are a group of indie writers putting our work out into the world and trying to navigate the web, social media, and all the new opportunities available.  Each of us has a different perspective on what it means to be indie, why we’re indie, and the unique challenges that indie publishers face.

What we share in common is a desire for community with other indies, and a goal toward raising the quality of the work put out by indies.

DISCLAIMER: Publishing Renaissance isn’t a person, but rather a group of individual contributors. Publishing Renaissance does not necessarily endorse or agree with every view espoused by every author featured here, nor may we all agree with the methods, views, or practices of every other contributor. The opinions of each individual are their own and indie authors are, well, independent. Please read this blog as different voices and opinions, rather than as a borg.

We Are:

the-provisoMoriah Jovan: Moriah Jovan is the author of THE PROVISO. Since before Moriah can remember, she wrote stories in her head to put herself to sleep at night. Unfortunately, they grew like kudzu and took over her neural pathways until, around age fourteen, she had to start putting them on paper before they choked out everything else. She’s been writing ever since, with the exception of a five-year sagging middle—er, uh, hiatus—during which a lot of stuff happened. The trouble started when she woke up one morning with the solution to a plot problem that had plagued her since 1995 . . .

.

shrink-rap2Robin Altman: Robin Altman is a child psychiatrist, and author of “Shrink Rap – An Irreverent Take on Child Psychiatry.” She lives in PA with her 3 children, Kevin age 16, Alex age 14, and Adam age 49. She’s an indie author and proud of it! Robin dreams of Shrink Rap books 2-20 coming out one day, and potentially taking over the world. She’s also a stand up comedian, but don’t tell her she’s not funny, because she’ll cry.

waiting-for-spring1 R. J. Keller: R.J. Keller is a writer from Central Maine, where she lives happily with her husband, two kids, and the family cat. She is the author of the independently published novel, Waiting for Spring. A passionate enthusiast of independent films, she worked as a correspondent for the I’m Not There movie support site and is currently the Features Administrator of the Movie Fanatic website. She pays her bills by working nights at a local rural convenience store and chronicles those frequently humorous exploits on her blog, Ingenious Title To Appear Here Later.

.

realfinalmed1 Zoe Winters: Zoe Winters writes paranormal romance and erotica (under a different name which she won’t tell you muahaha.) She lives with her husband, and two cats: Frankie and Drusilla. Her favorite colors are rainbow and clear (don’t bother trying to convince her that clear isn’t a color.) Her latest release is a free novella in ebook form, called KEPT.
